Based on a true story, the movie tells the story of the fierce rivalry between two Formula One drivers, Niki Lauda and James Hunt, in the 1970s.
The two characters are diametrically opposed to each other. Niki Lauda’s character is a calm, calculated and precise racer, whose rationality and attention to detail help him succeed on the track; James Hunt, on the other hand, is a wildly uninhibited and exceptionally gifted racer, whose driving style is bold, who likes to take desperate measures and always walks on the verge of danger, but is always able to turn the danger into safety.
As the saying goes, peers are enemies, under the fierce competition, peers often because of the conflict of interest and turn against each other, these two seemingly irreconcilable arch-enemies, in fact, is the recognition of each other’s ability and respect for the people of the same way, although competition is inevitable, but through fair competition and mutual respect, the arch-enemies can still become good friends.
At the end of the movie, Niki Lauda says something very philosophical: “Don’t think of it as a curse when you meet a rival in your life, it could be a blessing. A smart person learns a lot from his rivals, more than a fool learns from his friends”.

It’s always been a tit-for-tat nemesis for Nicky (Daniel Brühl) and James (Chris Hemsworth).
While Nicky is serious and has great respect for the profession of racing, James likes to take risks and use racing as a bargaining chip for his own womanizing, and although the two men have very different personalities, the rivalry between them never stops.
In order to change his immature character, James marries Suzy (Olivia Wilde), a model he meets by chance, Nikki finds the love of her life and joins the Ferrari team, while James, whose life has already gone downhill, joins the McLaren team, and the pair of rivals are once again on the battlefield of life.
During one of the races, Nicky was seriously injured in a car accident caused by heavy rain, and James won the championship.
However, Nicky did not give up and in a very short time, despite being stopped by the crowd, he returned to the race with determination.
