The movie tells a love story between two Beijingers who have been displaced to the United States.
Liu Yuan is a Beijinger who has immigrated to the United States for many years, and lives a very dashing life, with no fixed job, doing whatever he can to make money.
He meets Li Qing by chance when he is helping the movie director to choose a location, and reunites with her again and again, but every time he meets, he encounters trouble of one kind or another.
Li Qing is a Beijinger who first came to the U.S. and meets Liu Yuan, who is helping a friend to look at a house. She breaks up with him several times and reunites with him several times, but every time she meets him, she encounters bad luck.
In the end, she and Liu Yuan fall in love and return to Beijing together.

Liu Yuan (Ge You) and Li Qing (Xu Fan) are the perfect couple.
