Based on real social events, the movie tells the story of the beginning and end of a real murder case of a teenager in Guling Street, Taipei City, Taiwan, in the early 1960s, showing the changes in Taiwanese society and the confusion of teenagers.
The movie is four hours long, and the plot is somewhat similar to “Days of Sunshine”, with fights between two different gangs of social hooligans, hysterical political persecution, and the youthful and fervent love of junior high school teens. Xiao Si’s father is powerless in the face of the system, losing his own ideals and beliefs, and learning to bow down and submit, Xiao Si doesn’t want to learn from his father to submit, and eventually Xiao Si kills his former lover Xiao Ming with a knife, resulting in a tragedy, which is saddening, borrowing a line from Zhang Qiusheng’s “Have a good talk”, “Fighting and fighting over such a person, fighting over such a person, fighting over such a person, fighting over such a person, fighting over a person. Although they go to the woods to see someone, they live a completely different life from the many teenagers around them who hang out in the “small park”.
After falling in love with Xiao Ming, Xiao Si falls into a bottomless abyss and is led by all kinds of external forces.
The accidental death of his new admirer Honey (Lin Hongming), the serious damage to his father’s self-esteem and spirit due to a certain incident, and the fact that Xiao Ming, who “cheated and toyed” with his feelings time and time again, “saw through” him, Xiao Si, who has a strong sense of morality, finally embarks on the path of crime. Finally embarked on the road of crime, expecting to use his own knife to end the root cause of the incident.
