Beijing, one winter.

Silent and introverted, single young man Xiaodou (Feng Yuanzheng) is a letter carrier whose daily job is to send and receive letters from the residents of the Happy Zone, and he lives with his sister (Danni Liang) in a humble silo.

The appearance of his sister’s boyfriend (Pu Cunxin) causes Xiaodou inexplicable annoyance, and his already awkward privacy is further embarrassed by the small, confined space.

In his boredom, Xiaodou begins to sneak letters home to open and read. Initially, he only wants to peep into other people’s lives, but he slowly develops the idea of interfering in other people’s lives and begins to write anonymous letters, fake letters under false names, and even breaks into other people’s homes according to their addresses.

But eventually he realizes that the only person he can change is himself.
