The movie is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi novel of the same name, Dune. On a planet called Erakos, which is filled with yellow sand, there exists a large amount of “spice”, which is a very precious resource, and whoever controls it can wield great power. After many years of the Harkonnen family running Erakos, the alien Emperor appointed the Eurydice to take over, with the real purpose of using the Harkonnen family to get rid of the Eurydice.
