The movie tells the story of the Boston Globe’s “Spotlight” reporters who uncovered the Catholic Church’s child sex abuse scandal in Boston.
The film’s narrative approach is simple and direct, without too much dramatization, like a documentary running narrative, “Focus” team in the process of investigation, we see the pain and struggle of each victim, but also see the power of the Church in order to maintain their own reputation and interests, at all costs to cover up the truth, suppression of the investigation, even They even threatened and intimidated the victims.

“Robbie Robinson (Michael Keaton) is the editor of “Spotlight”, a Boston Globe column that features an independent investigative team consisting of Sacha Pfeiffer (Rachel McAdams), Michael (Mark Ruffolo), and Matt Carroll (Brian d’Arcy James). James).
When Marty Baron (Levi Schreiber) takes over as managing editor of the Globe, he begins assigning Robinson and his team to follow up on a long-sheltered case of a Catholic priest sexually molesting children in his parish.

As they dig deeper and deeper into the investigation, they find more evidence of this conspiracy, and that the atrocities are being played out not just by the clergy, but just outside of Boston, and even around the world.
