Based on Henry Fielding’s 1749 novel of the same name, the movie focuses on the coming-of-age story of outcast Tom Jones.
The illegitimate child Tom Jones was adopted by a kind squire, Tom Jones looks handsome, temperament, yearning for romance and adventure, he fell in love with a neighboring manor owner’s daughter Sophia, but encountered from the cousin Biffle’s obstruction and vilification, as a result, Tom was expelled from home.
Tom came to London, experienced many adventures and setbacks, Tom’s identity was revealed, it turned out that he is the squire’s sister’s illegitimate son, and Biffle is a half-brother, Biffle persecution of Tom’s conspiracy was finally exposed, Tom won the true love, and Sofia live happily together.

Plot Synopsis:
Tom Jones (Albert Finney Albert Finney) was originally an illegitimate child, then was adopted by a gentleman, his nature is passionate and exuberant, the appearance of the manor house owner’s daughter Sophia (Susannah York Susannah York) fell in love with him, and then was a cousin Biffle (David Warner DavidWarner) interfered with the intervention of a number of entanglements, the infamy of the manor house. Under Biffle’s plot, Tom is sent to the gallows. At the critical moment of execution, Sophia’s father arrives in time to break Biffle’s plot and save Tom’s life.
