Based on the 2014 French film The Baileys, the movie tells the story of Ruby, a hearing girl who grows up in a deaf family, exploring themes of family, dreams and self-identity.
Ruby is the only person in her family who can hear, and she wakes up early every morning to help her family catch fish, while also taking care of her studies. She loves music and dreams of becoming a singer, but when she graduates from high school, she is faced with the dilemma of whether to help her father run the fishing industry or to go to a conservatory to pursue her dreams.
