A romantic love story between a gold-digging woman and a soft-boiled man, the movie script is based on Truman Cobaldi’s middle grade novel of the same name. The movie tells the story of a poor girl named Holly, who relies on dating rich men to make ends meet and is determined to marry into the upper class, but reality repeatedly puts her up against a wall.
At the beginning of the film, Holly is wearing a little black dress, eating breakfast on Fifth Avenue in New York City. She stands in front of the window of Tiffany’s jewelry store, gazing at the jewels inside, as if seeing her dream life, and the soundtrack, “Moon River,” plays in the background, which has become a classic scene in the history of cinema.
The movie’s theme song “Moon River” won the Best Original Song Award at the 34th Academy Awards, and the song is a reflection of Holly’s life journey.
The “Moon River” in the song symbolizes Holly’s dreams and hopes, and it guides Holly to find true love and self-fulfillment.
