The movie begins with the stepping down of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and the appointment of Churchill as the new Prime Minister, and ends with the retreat at Dunkirk, telling the story of how British Prime Minister Winston Churchill saved the day and led the country through the toughest moments in the face of the threat of Nazi Germany.
At that time, the German army was sweeping across Europe, the British and French allied forces were losing ground, and the Dunkirk retreat was imminent. Under the predicament of internal and external problems, Churchill rejected peace with Germany and determined to lead the British people to fight to the end.
