Maggie, the main character of the movie, is a young woman from a poor family who has dreamed of becoming a professional boxer since she was a child. At a boxing gym, she meets Frankie, an experienced but disillusioned trainer, who is initially reluctant to train Maggie, but her perseverance and determination eventually impress him, and Frankie then agrees to train Maggie, and in the course of the training process, a deep mentor-pupil relationship is established between Frankie and Maggie. In the course of training, Frankie and Maggie build a strong mentor-pupil relationship, and Maggie gradually makes her mark in the boxing ring. However, an unexpected match changes their destiny, and pushes the movie to a heartbreaking conclusion.
