The protagonist, Ah Q, is a very typical little man who lives a miserable and pitiful life under the oppression of the powerful and rich, but does not know how to change his situation, nor does he understand the meaning and value of the revolution, but is keen on bullying those who are weaker than himself. He is eventually mistaken for a revolutionary and executed, and before he dies, he still does not understand why he has to die.
The significance and value of classic literature lies in the fact that although this novel was written more than a hundred years ago, the AQ depicted in the novel can transcend the time and background and is still relevant. Many people nowadays are actually like AQ, leading a confused life.
