Based on the real-life Rajakannu case in India in the 1990s, the movie tells the story of Chandru, a lawyer who fought alone against the caste system and the politics of black money to deliver justice.

Rajakannu is a victim of India’s unfair caste system. He goes to the mayor’s house to catch a snake, and is not only disliked and stared at, but also wrongly accused of stealing the mayor’s wife’s jewelry.

The local police arrested all of Rajakannu’s family members and tortured and humiliated them in order to learn of his whereabouts.

After capturing Rajakannu, they tortured him to extract a confession, resulting in his death from serious injuries.

In order to avoid responsibility and cover up the truth, the police claimed that Rajakannu had escaped from prison with his brother and nephew to confuse the public.

Wife Sengani’s quest for justice for her husband is aided by legal professionals like Chandru, who stands up for what is right. When Sengani tells him that she has no money to pay for her reward, Chandru replies, “I will sleep soundly when you get a just verdict, and that’s the best reward I can offer.
