Based on the biographical literature of the same name by Nicholas Pellegrini, with a plot and characters based on real events and people (Frank Rosenthal), the movie tells the story of Sam Rothstein, who was appointed to be in charge of the operation and management of a large casino in 1973. Under his professional management, the casino’s business has flourished, and at the same time, it has also made him a rich and powerful Vegas tycoon.
Each character in the film symbolizes a different aspect of human nature.
Sam represents reason and calculation, but his pursuit of money and power ultimately makes him lose the warmth of human nature; Nicky is the polarized embodiment of violence and greed in human nature, which is both arrogant and cruel; and Ginger symbolizes vulnerability and struggle, and her fate reflects the helplessness and sadness of human nature in the face of desire and reality.
The movie depicts the details of the casino operation in great detail, whether it is the daily operation of the casino or the psychological changes of the gamblers, all of which are shown in great detail.
The later Wolf of Wall Street is supposed to have copied this movie.
