A prequel to Alien, set in 2089, archaeologist Elizabeth Shaw and her colleagues find a star map on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, and under the auspices of the Weyland Corporation form an expedition aboard the Prometheus spacecraft to set out for the planet LV-223, where the map leads, to find the “engineer” aliens who created mankind and try to unravel the mystery of mankind’s origins. “The crew of the Prometheus is in a state of shock during the flight.
With the crew dormant and the humanoid robot David monitoring the journey, the ship arrives at its destination in 2093, only to discover that the aliens have created a black liquid biological weapon that seeks to destroy the human race on the planet. The archaeologist leads the Prometheus to crash into the alien spacecraft in an attempt to stop the aliens, who are ultimately killed by giant facehugging bugs that give birth to the first aliens.
In 2094, the female archaeologist joins the robot David in an alien ship to travel to the aliens’ home planet to learn why they are trying to destroy the human race.

Plot Synopsis:
At the end of the 21st century, mankind’s technological level has been highly advanced, human cloning technology and cosmic voyages have long been realized and are no longer a dream.
At the same time, many scientists are still tirelessly pursuing the secrets and truth of the origin of mankind.
By examining and comparing many ancient civilizations, scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) discover that humans may have been created by extraterrestrials from a galaxy far, far away.
Funded by the Weyland Corporation, they travel to that unknown planet aboard the spaceship Prometheus, captained by Vickers (Charlize Theron).
After examining the area, the Earthlings’ vision is successfully confirmed.
But their hasty search for the “secrets of the gods” also leads them into the abyss of doom. ……
