Plot Synopsis:
When Max (Robert DeNiro) is indicted for rape, he calls on his lawyer Sam (Nick Nolte) to defend him; unbeknownst to him, Sam is a feminist.
Out of righteous indignation, Sam purposely withholds a piece of evidence in Macks’ favor, which ultimately leads to Macks being sentenced to an additional six years in prison.
Originally ignorant of the law, Macks discovered Sam’s betrayal of him through self-study of the law while in prison and vowed to seek revenge on Sam.
Fourteen years later, Macks is released from prison and begins his revenge program.
He first shows up near Sam’s house, causing them to panic; then the men Sam sends against him are beaten by him; he later sneaks into Sam’s house and kills the bodyguard and the cook.
