Plot Synopsis:
A black TV director and his wife are inexplicably insulted by a white cop for a trumped-up driving violation; the seemingly reprehensible cop saves the black woman he insulted in the nick of time; an honest Persian store owner nearly murders a tattooed Mexican locksmith (Michael Pena); the district attorney ( Brendan Fraser) and his wife (Sandra Bullock) can only take their grievances out on the innocent locksmith after being robbed of their Jeep; a black cop (Don Cheadle ) is enduring threats from his superiors and anxiously searching for his brother.
All of these seemingly unrelated trivialities are twisted together in an unexpected way over the course of 36 hours, as they play out one by one on the streets of Los Angeles, a multiracial, multicultural metropolis known for its violence, sex, and money. ……
