The film was directed, written, and starred Woody Allen, and the protagonists of the film, Ivy and Allen, are so similar in their experiences that it is often considered a semi-autobiographical movie.
The movie tells the love story between Jewish comedian Alvy and his girlfriend Annie Hall, Alvy is a neurotic, anxiety-ridden New York intellectual, while Annie is a naive, energetic singer. The two meet, fall in love at first sight, and quickly fall in love, however, as time passes, their relationship begins to show cracks, and they eventually break up.

Plot Synopsis:
Comedian Alvy Singer (Woody Allen) is a man who is very concerned about his Jewish origins; thinks he has a childhood shadow and has been paying for sixteen years to see a psychiatrist who has not seen any improvement; is a bit of a Q spirit, but is full of negativity about life; and likes to tell boring jokes all the time.
Because of his neurotic qualities, Alvy has experienced two failed marriages.
Ivy meets Annie (Diane Keaton), a girl who has always dreamed of becoming a singer, and they gradually fall in love.
Annie’s singing skills improve rapidly with Alvy’s help, but her parents object to her relationship with Alvy.
Annie gets the attention of Tony, a record dealer, and is invited to Hollywood to record, where Alvy follows her and proposes to her.
