The film is based on US Airways Captain Chesley Sully Sullenberger’s memoir “Highest Duty”, published in 2009. On January 15, 2009, Captain Sully flew US Airways Flight 1549 from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, and shortly after takeoff, both engines on the plane suffered bird strikes and lost power, and the captain found that he couldn’t get to the nearest airport, and so decided to land the plane on the Hudson River, which resulted in the survival of all 155 people on board. Hudson River, resulting in a total of 155 people on board all survived, the incident is also known as the “Miracle on the Hudson River”.
After the accident, Captain Sully suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, hallucinations and insomnia.
In the aftermath of the accident, the National Transportation Safety Board said that they had conducted computer simulations and concluded that the plane was capable of landing at a nearby airport, and that the accident may have been due to pilot negligence.
Captain Sully refuted this claim with facts and eloquence during the hearing, and ultimately the commission concluded that Captain Sully made the right choice and saved the lives of everyone on board.
This is a movie that refreshed my perception of the moral lower limits of bureaucracy.

But the subsequent investigation revealed that he made the wrong choice, believing that he could have chosen to return to LaGuardia Airport.
