Special Agent Ethan decides to officially retire, marrying his fiancée Julia and living a quiet life.
However, his retirement is interrupted by an urgent mission: his student, Agent Lindsay, is kidnapped by weapons trafficker Davian. Ethan leads his team to rescue Lindsay and discovers that Davian plans to acquire a dangerous weapon known as the Rabbit’s Foot. In the end, Ethan, through courage and wisdom, successfully thwarted Davian’s plan, rescued Julia, and protected the world.
The plot is a bit far-fetched, the logic is not rigorous, many plot arrangements are very far-fetched, and it’s still mainly an action movie with showy skills and coolness.

Plot Synopsis:
Ethan (Tom Cruise) was once a secret agent working in the special department, since a beautiful woman named Julia (Michelle Monaghan) appeared in his life, Ethan decided to wash his hands of the world and return to the field.
Unfortunately, the good times don’t last long, and the happily-ever-after doesn’t last long when Ethan receives news that his protégé, Lyndsay (Keri Russell), has been taken captive by his nemesis, Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman).
Davian is cold and vicious, and it’s a long shot for Lindsay to fall into his hands.
In order to free Lindsay, Ethan reverts to his old ways as he organizes a team of elite operatives and launches himself at his target.
What Ethan doesn’t expect is that Davian’s real target isn’t Lindsay, but Julia. When his wife falls into the enemy’s hands, what will Ethan do to fight back?
