In a California high school, Laura Barnes was drunk and incontinent at a party, an indecent scene that was recorded and uploaded to Youtube, causing Laura to suffer endless ridicule and shame, and ultimately killing herself with a gun.
A year later, Laura’s lifelong friend Blair is video chatting with some of her friends on her Apple computer, when suddenly an anonymous user joins their conversation. As the conversation progresses, the mysterious user begins to reveal everyone’s dark secrets, and things gradually get out of hand, turning into a deadly game.
The film is shot in a very special way, the whole story unfolds through the form of a computer screen, using the computer desktop, video calls, social media and instant messaging and other elements, so that the audience feels as if they were there, but also become a participant on the other side of the screen, and the characters together through the night of the war.
The movie cost only $1 million to make, but made $64.1 million at the box office.
